BMW CIC LVDS Connector Verification Guide
Some BMW vehicles equipped with the CIC iDrive system (2011–2015) may use either a 4-pin or 6-pin LVDS connector behind the screen. This cannot be confirmed by year or VIN and must be checked visually before ordering.
Applies only to CIC iDrive vehicles
Takes 3–5 minutes
Required before ordering
Important clarification
Some aftermarket units may not work with certain 4-pin setups.
Our units support both connector types.
For ordering:
• 4-pin LVDS → Select CIC version
• 6-pin LVDS → Select NBT version
These labels refer to the screen version you need from us, not the original system in your car.
Take a quick photo of your connector if unsure. Send it to support, we’ll confirm it before shipping.

Step 1 – Access Your Screen
Carefully remove the trim around the iDrive screen. In most cases, no tools are needed, but we recommend using a plastic pry tool to avoid scratching or damaging the trim.
Gently pull the screen forward to reveal the connector behind it.

Step 2 – Identify your LVDS connector
-
Look for the 4-pin or 6-pin connector.
-
4-pin: smaller, 4 gold pins visible
-
6-pin: slightly larger, 6 gold pins visible

Step 3 – Confirm before ordering
-
Once identified, note your connector type.
-
This ensures we ship the correct screen for your car.
Tip: If you’re unsure, take a photo and send it to our support team.
